A common mistake made by many people is that when you do strength training, you can turn fat into muscle, or that if you stop working out your muscle will turn into fat. This is wrong but for some reason many people and supposed “experts” on the subject will stick to this claim.

It is easy to see how this myth has come about however. It is definitely true that when you work out and train with weights, the amount of muscle you have will increase and the amount of body fat will be reduced.
