There is a major issue plaguing modern society called obesity. And dietary supplements offer a quick way out of the problem.

But there is a lot about supplements that the average consumer is completely unaware of.

So here is what you don’t know about dietary supplements:

1. Their manufacturing process and their claims are loosely regulated: In fact, a harmful supplement can be placed on the market and it would be the government’s responsibility to prove that it was not suitable for consumption.

2. Fish oil pills can be harmful for you: Anything in excess can damage your body, and fish oil is no exception here. In fact, if you have more than three grams per day you run the risk of damaging your cardiovascular system.

3. Calcium can be painful: Your best bet is to get calcium from natural sources of food, not from supplements. You see, supplemental calcium increases your risk for developing kidney stones, a painful condition.

4. Whole food will always have more nutrients: You see, whole foods interact with each other in ways that science is still trying to figure out. And when a supplement goes through the manufacturing process, it loses most of its nutrition.

5. Less is better: The less supplements you have in your diet the better. You see, nobody knows for sure if supplements are safe in the long run. And if you get the majority of your nutrition from whole foods, you will be far better off here.

6. You don’t need weight loss pills with caffeine: You see, there are natural alternatives like loose leaf teas that are just as powerful here. Even better, they don’t cost as much as come with a huge amount of anti oxidants.

Dietary supplements are usually a waste of money. You are far better off getting your nutrition from whole foods for the best results.

Just like protein and carbs, dietary fat has been in and out of fashion many times within our society. And this has created a lot of confusion amongst health conscious consumers.

Unfortunately, if you don’t optimize your dietary fat intake, you can significantly decrease your health and weight loss.

So here is what you don’t know about fat:

1. There are certain types of fat that your body can’t make: This means that the best strategy is to get fat from a wide variety of sources so that you are never deficient. The main key here is to avoid focusing on one type of fat like omega three fat.

2. Having too many omega three fatty acids can backfire: You see, omega three fatty acids can damage your health when consumed in excess. So make sure you only supplement on the days when you aren’t eating natural sources of omega three fats.

3. Many vitamins require fat for digestion: This means that a lot of the vitamin drinks on the market are useless because they lack fat. So save your money on vitamin drinks and eat your food with healthy amounts of fat for optimal nutrition.

4. It serves as a precursor to hormones: If you don’t eat enough fat, your body won’t produce enough fat burning hormones. It’s a catch 22, but you need to eat fat in order to burn dietary fat. So never go on a low fat diet.

5. Body fat and dietary fat gets cycled in and out of your fat cells all the time: This means that it’s virtually impossible to dictate where your body loses fat from. The only way around this is with surgery which I don’t recommend.

6. Without fat your cell’s health will go down: Specifically, you need fat in your diet so that the membranes of your cells remain healthy. Otherwise, your active tissues will not be able to absorb the highest amount of nutrients.

Optimizing your dietary fat intake is one of the best things you can do to enhance your health. So take action here as soon as possible!

Protein is one of the most misunderstood macronutrients because of all the marketing that surrounds it. After all, supplemental protein is the number one selling supplement.

Protein is one of the most misunderstood macronutrients because of all the marketing that surrounds it. After all, supplemental protein is the number one selling supplement.

The tricky part here is that for the average consumer separating fact from fiction can be virtually impossible.

Thus, here is some critical information about protein that you need to know:

1. It can be stored as fat: In fact, storing dietary protein as body fat is very easy in the human body. You have all the enzymes and processed to do this. So don’t assume that eating high amounts of protein will have no effect on your body fat.

2. Carbs protect body protein: Eating more protein does not prevent your body from burning lean muscle tissue. Eating carbs, on the other hand, does prevent your body from burning through lean muscle tissue because carbs provide energy.

3. Aim for 25% of total caloric intake as protein: At this level you will avoid the negative side effects while enjoying the benefits of protein. If you have too much protein your body will suffer, and if you have too little you will not be able to recover properly.

4. It causes calcium excretion: For every extra gram of protein that you eat, one and a half grams of calcium get excreted from your body. So if you are eating huge amounts of protein, your body will begin to excrete excessive amounts of protein.

5. You need 700% more water: In comparison to carbohydrates and fat, your body needs seven times more water to digest and metabolize protein. So make sure you take this into account when you are going on a high protein diet.

6. Supplemental protein is inferior: Protein is from natural food will always be superior to protein from supplements. The reason being that protein from natural food will digest at much slower rates which in turn will enhance absorption.

Protein doesn’t have to be a confusing subject for you. Simply take heed of the advice in this article and you will be just fine!

You can have the perfect workout routine and you can have the perfect diet, but if your mental game isn't in place you will eventually fail.

You can have the perfect workout routine and you can have the perfect diet, but if your mental game isn’t in place you will eventually fail.

And most people do not have an action plan in place to help them reach peak mental performance.

So here are 6 ways to get your mind in the weight loss zone:

1. Self-monitor your progress: It’s a natural human trait to overlook progress over long periods of time. After all, your brain has limited storage capacity and will only recall the essentials. A great way around this motivation destroyer is to keep track of all your milestones.

2. Expect setbacks: You have been conditioned to avoid failure. Yet, the most successful entities in any field have the highest failure rates. Because of this paradox, many people don’t take the necessary leaps to achieve their goals.

3. Focus on changing your surroundings: You need to do this before you focus on how to change yourself. You see, changing your surroundings is much easier than whipping yourself into change. Moreover, the momentum from changing your environment will help you change yourself.

4. Don’t settle for small goals: In fact, the bigger your goal is the more likely it is that you will take extreme action to reach it. So never give in to small goals, always have a super big goal. This is the true goal to achieving high levels of motivation.

5. Don’t beat yourself into action: Although this strategy may work in the short term, in the long term it will drain you of the will to move forward. Instead, motivate yourself by moving towards something positive, don’t run away from something negative.

6. Avoid baby steps: The only time you should reduce the amount of work you are doing is when you feel absolutely overwhelmed. You see, if you take too many baby steps you won’t see fast results. And in the absence of results you are more likely to jump ship.

Optimizing your mental game is critical if you want to be able to reach your goal. So take heed of the advice in this article and put it to practice!

If you are trying to get in shape or lose weight, posture is extremely important. After all, poor posture sets you up for an injury that can sideline you for months on end.

If you are trying to get in shape or lose weight, posture is extremely important. After all, poor posture sets you up for an injury that can sideline you for months on end.

However, many women aren’t actively seeking ways to improve their posture.

So here is how to improve posture in the female body:

1. Avoid the extended use of high heels: The main issue with high heels is that they make your calf muscles very tight which can lead to over pronation of your foot. This in turn can make it very hard for you to squat properly.

2. Avoid an overemphasis on step machines: Step machines will make your hip flexors very tight. And you probably already have very tight hip flexors if you are in the seated position for extended periods of time. So limit use here.

3. Don’t sit down all day: One solution here is to work from the standing position as much as possible. Although uncomfortable at first, you will get used to it. Even better, will you will burn some extra calories while preserving your posture.

4. Reassess your workstation: Making sure your workstation is set up correctly can make an astronomical difference in the quality of your posture. After all, bad workstations are the number one cause for postural degeneration.

5. Use your back a lot: You need to do a lot of back exercises in your workouts for best results here. You see, upper back muscles become weak and long when you sit down all day. So it makes sense to strengthen them when you are in the gym.

6. Don’t use your chest so much: Doing this can further exacerbate a forward hunch or rounded shoulders. You see, when your shoulders round forward your chest muscles become tight. If you exercise those same chest muscles with a high frequency you make them even tighter.

Correcting your posture is the best thing you can do for the image you project. It will also protect your joints for many years to come!

Both these types of fat have had cycles of approval and disapproval within our society. Unfortunately, there seems to be yet another shift of approval happening within the mass media.

Both these types of fat have had cycles of approval and disapproval within our society. Unfortunately, there seems to be yet another shift of approval happening within the mass media.

Unfortunately, these constant shifts are rarely based on sound science.

So here are the ins and outs of body fat and dietary fat:

1. Fat is stored inside of your arteries: It’s not just skin fat you have to worry about here. After all, fat in your arteries can be lethal. Now the best way to reduce this fat is by eating lots of fiber, reducing sugar and avoiding saturated fat.

2. Fat is also alongside your organs: Although not as lethal as fat in your arteries, fat around your organs is much worse than fat underneath your skin. You see, fat around your organs can change their size and shape and can also release harmful substances into your body.

3. Fat under your skin is the lesser of the evils: Having said that, you still want to get rid of it at some point. You see, excess skin fat will make it harder for you to absorb nutrients from your food and will also make your joints wear out quickly.

4. Having a variety of dietary fat is best: For the best health outcomes you want to have a variety of dietary fat in your diet. Don’t just focus on olive oil, for instance. Instead, get healthy sources of fat from all the different groups.

5. Don’t overdo the omega-3 intake: Many fitness professionals recommend taking huge amounts of fish oil. The problem with this approach is that too much fish oil can damage your heart over long periods of time. This happens because the omega three acids can increase oxidation.

6. Eat dietary fat as frequently as possible: In fact, you should aim to have dietary fat in as many meals as possible for the best results here. You see, if you don’t have enough fat in your diet not only will your cells suffer, but you will also produce less hormones.

Body fat and dietary fat have become confusing issues in our society. Yet, both of them have such a strong grip on your health!

As a society, we have had a love hate relationship with carbohydrates. Initially, we hated them. Then, we started to accept them.

Unfortunately, unless you have an advanced degree in nutrition, it can be very hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.

So here are some things you should know about carbs for a better weight loss experience:

1. You need a lot of water to process them correctly: You see for every carbohydrate that gets put inside of your muscles you need three parts water. Without enough water, your muscles can not absorb carbohydrates correctly.

2. Carbohydrate consumption does not translate into no fat loss: You can lose lots of fat while eating carbohydrates. In fact, if you manage your carbohydrate consumption correctly you can lose more fat while eating carbs.

3. Fructose can be very unhealthy: Fructose is a type of carbohydrate found in fruit. And if you eat too much of it you can cause your liver to produce excessive amounts of triglycerides and bad cholesterol. This in turn will decrease the health of your circulatory system.

4. You don’t need to eat carbs during training: You only need carbs if your training is more than one hour in length. Otherwise, do not eat while you are training. This will only make you excessively thirsty and has the potential to decrease your performance.

5. Low carbohydrate diets are not magical: There is nothing about a low carbohydrate diet that induces extra amounts of fat loss. In fact, the main weight loss factor in low carb diets is a reduction in caloric consumption.

6. Carbohydrate absorption decreases dramatically after a workout: Let two hours go by after your workout and carbohydrate absorption will have decreased by 66%. Thus, it’s crucial that you have carbs immediately after exercising.

Carbohydrates are not evil, especially if you manage their intake correctly. The key here is to take action on this information or it will be rendered useless!

Nutrition has become a very confusing subject for many people. After all, savvy entrepreneurs have flooded the information highways with endless misinformation.

The bad news is that it can be very difficult for you to separate fact from fiction.

Thus, without further ado, here are some diet foods you need to reevaluate:

1. Excess fish oil: Endless fitness experts recommend taking huge amounts of fish oil. The problem with this approach is that too much fish oil can damage your heart. Moreover, supplemental fish oil is not necessary if you are eating fish.

2. Trans fats: The biggest issue here is that trans fats are hidden in many foods. This is possible because of a loophole that allows companies to claim their products have zero trans fats as long as there is less than half a gram per serving.

3. Canned fish: A lot canned fish such as tuna has high amounts of mercury. Thus, it’s in your best interest to find a different protein source. At the very least, make sure you eat tuna every once in a while. Don’t make it a staple in your diet.

4. Fortified eggs: Just because an egg is infused with healthy fats doesn’t make it healthy. You see, even though they add in healthy fats, they don’t remove the saturated fat which causes the damage. So opt for egg whites.

5. Artificial sweeteners: Just because a diet food has little calories doesn’t mean it is healthy for you. In fact, we still don’t know if long term consumption of artificial sweeteners is safe. You see, studies have shown that sweeteners can be mutagenic.

6. Blended shakes: Throwing a bunch of berries and protein powder into a blender is not healthy. You are far better off getting your nutrition from whole sources of food. You see, any time you blend something you accelerate its rate of digestion.

Diet foods aren’t good for you just because they are marketed as being healthy. So take action on the advice in this article, don’t delay!

The more you do while in the gym, the more calories you will burn. And the caloric burn will spill over into the hours and days after the workout. Even better, you will produce more hormones.

The more you do while in the gym, the more calories you will burn. And the caloric burn will spill over into the hours and days after the workout. Even better, you will produce more hormones.

And recall that hormones are the most powerful substances in your body and will profoundly change how you look.

So here are 6 ways to get more done in your workouts:

1. Combine pushing with pulling: If you do a bench press immediately after a row there will be little if any decrease in performance because you are using opposing muscles. Thus, by combining opposing muscles in this fashion you can get more done.

2. Work the major muscles in your body with no rest in between: You would do a pushing movement, a pulling movement and a lower body movement. This approach would lead to the highest caloric burn. The only catch here is that doing this is very difficult.

3. Gradually reduce rest periods between your sets: Although very challenging, this approach is a great way to increase the metabolic demands of your workouts. And a more metabolically demanding workout will translate into the highest levels of fat loss.

4. Have some caffeine before working out: Caffeine can turn an average workout into a groundbreaking workout. You see, not only does caffeine energize you, but it also decreases pain. This in turn allows you to work harder.

5. Don’t exercise from the seated position: Doing this will reduce the amount of calories you burn and will also reduce activation of your core muscles. So try to do as much of your training as possible from the standing position.

6. Schedule something important right after your workout: You have been conditioned by society to respond to deadlines. So use this inbuilt conditioning to your advantage and schedule something important right after your workout to speed things up.

Getting more done is the key to efficient and fast fat loss. All you have to do is take action right now!

If you think that your metabolism has something to do with arm toning, you're right! Figuring out how to hack your metabolism is a powerful way to get the lean arms of your dreams.

If you think that your metabolism has something to do with arm toning, you’re right! Figuring out how to hack your metabolism is a powerful way to get the lean arms of your dreams.

A fast metabolism is the most powerful tool you can use to get rid of those every annoying flabby arms.

I have some basic, yet critical tips for you so that your metabolism rises to new heights.

So here are four hacks that will keep your metabolism (and your arm toning) at the highest level possible:

1. Eat every three hours. If you’re still eating 3 square meals a day, you’re missing out big time. Eating every couple of hours (about 6 meals a day) will provide a higher thermic effect (more calories burned). As an added bonus, insulin (the #1 fat storing hormone) will be kept at an extremely low level.

2. Stay away from long-duration cardio. Go overboard with cardio and your body will secrete cortisol. This dirty hormone will eat away all your precious muscle. I say precious because muscle is the number one thing that will send your metabolism through the roof. Never do more than 45 minutes of cardio at a time for best results.

3. Do HIT (high intensity) cardio. This one isn’t mandatory, I recommend HIT cardio only for those women that are having a really hard time losing the arm flab. Otherwise, it isn’t necessary and can be counterproductive.

4. Don’t be afraid of weights. In fact, lifting weights (and increasing muscle mass) is the strongest stimulus for accelerating your metabolism. And don’t worry about developing manly arms! Men have 60 times more muscle building testosterone than women.

Practice the above pointers, and your arm toning will reach new heights. The key is to implement this advice now and not later. Because for most women, later never comes. Consider your metabolism to be your new best friend for sexy arm stardom.

One more thing: remember that applying this information is critical so that you don’t forget it. So make sure you act on it today, not tomorrow.
