Every other night we are out dining and enjoy our outings only to spend the next two days dieting. Does it sound familiar? Well eating out is something all of us look forward to. But how many of us really stop and think of our diet before we order the dishes?

How many times have you ordered the dishes seen on the photos and found it disappointing? . What the menu card shows and what you get on the table can be different. Better would be to choose a dish that is healthy and appeals to you.

Don’t fall for the colorful pictures on the menu card. Remember hotels and restaurants know how to market their services and rope in customers.

Making claims to their culinary specialties need not stand to test. Instead of going by what they say, better would be to go through the description given in the menu card to choose your order.

Always remember, Menu cards list the dishes but do not give any indication of its contents and nutritional value. It is always better to be well informed and choose the right kind of dishes on our own than depend upon the menu card.

Don’t fall for the claims of healthy food or go by what you see as a picture or display laid out at the hotels. Think again. The dishes you order will obviously contain substances other than vegetables. Vegetables may have been deep-fried or mixed with fatty cheese.

Use of spices, deep frying vegetables and using other fatty substances like cheese etc may make the dish tasty but it does not necessarily make the dishes healthy. Healthy cooking involves retaining the l vegetable’s nutrition by parboiling them and adding very little seasoning.

Sampling dishes before ordering might sound to be a grate idea, but not necessarily healthy idea. Desist from doing so, for you will end up consuming portions of food that has been soaked in oil and unhealthy.

Healthy eating habits will always help you maintain good health. Exercise caution while eating out and resort to healthy eating.

It is always harder to go on a diet when no one is joining you. It is been a problem for years, and will most likely remain a problem for years to come.

Friends that are unsupportive and try to get you to renege on your dietary decisions can be a severe obstacle to your goal of losing weight. So you must find a way to enjoy the company of your associates while remaining true to your diet in the face of temptation.

First, it is important to know where you’re going. Know the menus of the restaurants you plan to visit, so you know what you’re going to get beforehand and don’t run into any nasty surprises. Most places have their menus online, so this step shouldn’t be that difficult.

Stay true to yourself. It doesn’t matter how much someone tries to persuade you to do otherwise, if you stick your guns then you can resist it. Don’t give in to temptation.

Take it all in stride. Don’t get irritated or angry that they are trying to get you to eat barbecued ribs; that would just mess up the evening. Smile, play along, and order what YOU want to order.

When everyone decides that it’s time to start drinking, be careful! This is the easiest time for you to stray from your path and gulp down a lot of drinks that are rich in calories and potentially fattening. Be conscious of what you are drinking.

Always go for the light drinks, like vodka and tonic. These are low in calories and serve the same purposes as more fattening drinks.

In the end, just know that your friends like you for you, not for the fact that you eat and drink. You can always have fun without taking part in any kind of consumption that you aren’t comfortable with.

Even though you may want to have junk food over a plate of greens veggies, you need to know how important it is that your body gets these nutrients. Iron and Calcium- iron is the building blocks for the body ad found in meat and green veggies. Calcium is good for strong bones and you can find them in milk and other dairy products.

Fiber- an important component to maintain good healthy diet, improves digestion and prevents gallstones. Fiber is found in bran cereals, oats and vegetables.

If you do an intense workout or exercise on normal basis, you have to make sure you are giving your body the nutrition it needs. If you don’t, you could have fatigue, weakness and malnutrition.
